Whether your cat is old or young, male or female, anxious or mellow, he or she can get the idea that peeing anywhere but the litterbox is a good thing. Many frustrated humans in the past and present have tried nearly everything to figure out why the cat does this - and, of course, to solve the problem.

Here are the first things that you should do when your cat insists on stinking up your house. You’ll have to be patient while you work your way through this list, but soon your kitty will be back to doing his or her business in an appropriate place.

• Your cat needs a full health checkup. In many cases, cats pee right in front of you when they’re sick. A urinary tract infection (UTI) is one of the most common health problems, which your vet can treat. Even if that’s not what’s wrong with your kitty, your vet can track down, and solve, the problem.
• Cats who are older or who have health problems (joint pains, for example), can’t get in and out of the litterbox like they could when they were younger. Make the litterbox more accessible so that your kitty can get in and out.
• The litterbox itself might be a problem. If you have more than one cat, you might need to put out additional litterboxes. The type of litter and how much of it you use can be problems. • Sometimes cats will act out by peeing all over your favorite things. This can be a sign that they’re unhappy about something. Try giving your cat more (positive) attention. • Give your cat plenty of positive attention. Despite the stereotypes that surround felines, cats do bond with their humans. They want our attention and will go to great lengths to get it from us.

It was still dark when my alarm went off. In those first moments of waking, all I could hear was the patter of rain on the window. That just made bed all the more warm and cozy. I listened again and the rain gently continued; surely I could stay a little longer.

Love…what does it mean? There are so many definitions and a platitude of variations of love, how do we know how to receive it or give it? The dictionary has 28 definitions for the word Love. Imagine if you really knew how to Love Yourself. Most likely another person could not hurt or disrespect you. Imagine that you have established and mastered your values, and you’ve enhanced your consciousness to love you in addition to how you give and receive love. How would that feel? It is because of your complete understanding of the intangible things that are important to you that you can appreciate the values of others and exchange love accordingly. Take a moment and write down 10 of your most important values regarding a relationship. Then think about whether you apply those values to yourself regularly. When you’re done, think about your mate and speculate if your mate has similar values. Then, ask your mate to do the same. Once he or she is done, share your values with one another and discuss the ones you have in common, and discuss the ones that may not be on the list. But before you share please tell yourself, “Self, I have not loved you as much as I should. From this day forward I will Love you FIRST” and then you will understand how to give and receive Love.

A recent study has found that grape-seed extract may be what the medical community has been looking for to help eradicate cancer cells. In fact, the study concluded that grape-seed extract can indeed kill leukemia cancer cells.

The study, conducted by researchers at the Denver auto insurance of Kentucky, is causing quite a bit of interest within the medical community and has been published in an American Association for Cancer Research journal called Clinical Cancer Research. The study was led by Xianglin Shi, Ph.D., a professor at the University of Kentucky, in the Graduate Center for Toxicology Department.

Many researchers are trying to find something that can eradicate cancer cells, with the stipulation that the same thing that can eradicate cancer cells will not have a negative effect (or any effect) on normal cells. During the study, Shi exposed leukemia cells to grape seed extract at different doses. In one of the high doses the extract caused apoptosis, which is the cell signaling pathway associated with the use of the extract causing death of the leukemia cancer cells. During they study they also found that grape seed extract had no affect on normal cells at all. In addition, within 24 hours of exposure to grape seed extract, over 75 percent of leukemia cells had died.

More studies will be done to decide whether or not grape seed extract will be incorporated into leukemia and other cancer treatment and prevention. Many in the medical community are hopeful that the extract will indeed help eradicate cancer cells.
